Diallel analysis of length and shape of rice using Hayman and Griffing method

Abstract Length and shape of rice are important physical qualities that determine public acceptance a variety the price. Improvement length requires information on genetic parameters these traits. Diallel analysis is one methods usually used to estimate trait. The purpose this study was using full diallel analysis. plant material cross-population six genotypes, namely, Basmati Pakistan, Delta 9, Inpago Unsoed 1, Inpari 31, Koshihikari, Tarabas. Thirty-six genotypes consisting parents, F 1 1reciprocal , were planted randomized block design with three replications. data grain length:width ratio for Hayman Griffing method-1. results showed additive non-additive gene action influencing rice. effect greater than action, while both broad-sense heritability narrow-sense high, revealed selection traits at early generation pedigree method may be considered. not affected by female parent cytoplasm so 2 2reciprocal populations combined into population next generation.
